I'm unsure of how I feel about the world falling back upon ethnic and religious alliances instead of the tearing down of walls that logically should happen with globalization. I know that Huntington and van Creveld, and everyone really predicted it, but I don't know how I should feel about it. Why are we driven apart when we are closer together? Is fear really our greatest emotion, and can we ever forgive? What will the future look like if this continues?
Either way
Good luck Kosovo. We all know you've been treated badly since Tito and that the wounds from Milosevic are still all too fresh. It's just that Russia is so much more powerful than you, and even though we want to improve relations with Muslim countries, the U.S. has limited clout in the international field. It's difficult for us to encourage others to recognize you, when we are busy trying to convince the world's nuclear powers that shooting down a failed satellite isn't a missile defense test.
I hope you understand and this doesn't create even more instability in our world...
P.S. I think my favorite part of that picture is the American Flag.
